Our parks don't need themes.
The real magic begins in Seminole County, with acres of pristine parks and nature preserves and more than 2,000 rivers and lakes. Conveniently located near Orlando, Seminole County gives you spectacular sights and recreation that the theme parks just can't touch. It's a less crowded, more relaxing environment that really gives you that feeling of getting away from it all.
The area is made up of eight diverse communities, each offering something special, from historical charm to sophisticated style.
Altamonte Springs
Altamonte Springs offers a wealth of fine hotels, shops, restaurants, spas and lakeside parks. You're sure to find a special event or celebration to enjoy at the newly developed Crane's Roost Park, which features a floating stage, a 900-seat amphitheater and a beautiful nightly fountain show.
Casselberry
Enjoy a round of golf at the Deer Run Golf and Country Club or the Casselberry Golf Club, art classes at the Art House, or a day of recreation at the 60-acre Red Bug Lake Park.
Lake Mary
Experience the finer things in life from gorgeous new hotels to fabulous spas. The Colonial Towne Center is a great place to shop and dine, and the Timacuan Golf and Country Club is ranked as one of the best courses in the state.
Longwood
Seminole County's oldest city dates back to 1875, and many of its gems have been preserved, such as the Bradlee-McIntyre home, a fine example of Queen Anne-style architecture. See it in Longwood's charming Historic District.
Oviedo
There's plenty to do in this sleepy slice of old Florida, such as exploring many of Seminole County's wilderness areas and resources. Unwind at the King's Manor Bed and Breakfast, a charming Victorian farmhouse. And visit Black Hammock Adventures for airboat rides, lakeside dining and live entertainment.
Sanford
Historic Sanford features charming antiques, dining, shopping, art galleries and more. Some of the city's unique experiences include the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, cruises on the St. Johns River, and performances at the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center. Visit on the second Thursday of the month and you can enjoy Alive After Five, a downtown street party featuring food, drinks and live music.
Winter Springs
Explore trendy shops and cuisines at the brand new downtown area, Winter Springs Town Center. To recover from a "hard" day of shopping, visit one of the area's day spas and pamper yourself.
